Eddy Graham Jeffersontown High School will be hosting the 2016 Skills USA competition, displaying the talents of our trade programs and competing with other students from around the district. The competition will recognize Welding, Machine Tool, CADD, and our Robotics Team. Rommie Kader, from the welding program says, “I am pretty excited to see what we can accomplish. We’ve worked hard all year and it’s no surprise that we are ready for this, which we are.” And he couldn’t be anymore correct. In fact, every class has taken on special precautions to make sure the Chargers come out on top. “This is the best group of kids this welding program has seen in years, in my opinion”, says Jerry Burke, welding instructor. Baxter Meurer from the Machine Tool program seems to have a brighter look for the competition as well. “Totally gonna do awesome. We’re J-town”, he says. Hopes could not be higher for our performance. The competition will display every skill in every trade skill- from welds to manufactured parts to robotics. If you are involved in any of our big trades, you know the seriousness taken to be the very best in JCPS. Every day is filled with the effort of those who want to build a greater future for us all.
