Malachi Laws In 2005, at age 18, Kesha was signed to producer Dr. Luke's label Kemosabe Records. January 27th, 2009 was the day Ke$ha first globally became noticed in the music industry with her voice being used as the chorus within hit single “Right Round” by rapper Flo Rida. Ke$ha soon after became hits with our music artist by featuring in their songs like “My First Kiss” by 3OH!3 later in that year. Soon in early 2010 Ke$ha released her iconic hit single “Tik Tok” that broke the record in the United States for the highest single week sales, selling 610,000 digital downloads. Later that same month Ke$ha released her album containing memorable songs like “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Blah Blah Blah” with 30H!3. Today. In early February, Ke$sha happen to have gone to court to break her contract from Sony and her contract from her producer Dr. Luke, only for the judge to deny her request. The reason why this news caused such an huge uproar was the fact that, allegedly Ke$ha was raped by her music producer Dr. Luke back when she very first signed to him. And now that Ke$ha practically being forced by law and a contract she will have to work with not only Sony, but the guy and producer who had raped her. This uproar has reached out to other successful female music artist such as Adele who publically announced it on the Brit Awards 2016, Taylor Swift who donated $250,00, and Lady Gaga who had written and performed a song based on young females who are victims of rape called “Till It Happens To You” also on the Brit Awards 2016. Many have said that if Ke$ha was raped in 2005, why is she saying everything about her being raped now in 2016, 11 years later after the incident, but this should be an example for young women to be cautious of their surroundings.
